Designing a space that reflects who you are often begins with color.
At the start of Jean’s living room design project, we asked what a great interior design experience and result would be for her. She openly replied, “A comfortable room that I want to spend time in and reflects my lifestyle and personality!” Though nicely arranged, her living room suffered from a dark and dated color palette. A low ceiling height and large-scale furniture made the generous space appear cramped. The original red brick fireplace was in need of a modern facelift. The room was definitely not reflective of this empty nester’s active lifestyle and gracious manner.
Jean shared that, while she wanted to respect the traditional style of her home, she was yearning for a dose of fresh, energizing color – much like the vibrant perennials she cultivated in her outdoor gardens. And so I set out to cultivate the room’s color story, around the happy hues in Jean’s garden.
The resulting spirited mix of colors, textures, lighting, furniture and accessories delivers the style and personality that delights Jean every time she walks in the room!
Of her interior design experience, she says: “The end result has exceeded my expectations; it’s cohesive, comfortable and totally in line with my taste.” Happy client = happy designer!
